Social Investment

Aucor has always been a firm believer in creating real and sustainable benefit for the community. Our approach is not simply to provide charities with cash donations, but rather to get involved with a number of different initiatives, thus creating lasting and meaningful contributions for a better society and more importantly, a stronger economy.

Soweto Greening

Following a successful partnership with Joburg City Parks, Aucor became the proud auctioneering sponsor of the recently launched Greener Soweto Project. Our involvement in eco-activism is a first for the auction industry in South Africa.

This project kicked off with a mass tree planting ceremony in Soweto on Arbor Day, and will culminate in an upcoming gala dinner during which several parks and streets will go under the hammer. All proceeds of this worthy initiative will go towards making Soweto a much greener environment by the time the 2010 soccer spectacle rolls around.

The Thuthuka Bursary Fund

The Thuthuka Bursary Fund, launched in 2002, aims to promote chartered accounting as a first-choice career amongst individuals from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Aucor, in conjunction with Finweek magazine, sponsors quarterly charity functions, from which all delegate fees and proceeds go towards this esteemed cause.

The Paranassah Club

Aucor sponsors quarterly charity dinners together with Sasfin. These evenings serve as a networking platform for the countryโ€™s top business players, while our charity auctions raise notable funds for Chabbad House, the Paranassah Clubโ€™s chosen charity.

Charity Auctions

Aucor frequently conducts various charity auctions around the country. Annual auctions for organisations such as Stepping Stones Nursery School and Bellavista Remedial School are complemented by other one off events.

The recent auction for the Helping Hand Foundation, held at a spring ball in Pretoria, raised R21 000, whilst the charity auction held at the Cape Town Fish Market in Bloemfontein raised R89 350 for various charities.

A pair of tickets to the PGA Masters in Augusta, Florida was donated by Aucor at a recent Choc Debis Gala dinner. R50 000 secured the tickets and served as a handy cash-injection for CHOC, the Child Cancer Foundation.
